Kross Evado 7.0

Cross bikes are ideal for achieving high speeds in varied terrain. Large 28-inch wheels with a moderate width and profiled tread allow you to drive on both asphalt and unpaved roads. The slightly profiled handlebar with the bridge turned upwards makes the position much more comfortable than in a mountain bike. The Kross Evado 7.0 also uses a good quality shock absorber to increase comfort and safety.

The Kross Evado 7.0 from this year is the successor to the popular Evado 7.0 cross bike from previous years. A very popular model in the season.  It is the highest model with a frame without the characteristic hump on the top tube, which is already present on higher models.

Drive in a cross bike

This is what we all pay attention to. So what gear has been installed in the bike. Of course, this is not an indicator of the entire quality of the bike, because you can buy a complete junk with a great derailleur, as well as a very good bike with a slightly lower group of accessories.

With the evado 7.0, everything is in place, namely the Deore T6000 both front and back. A derailleur with almost only good opinions, giving you a lot of fun from quick shifting.

What else can be improved in Evado 7.0?

This one of the higher Evado models is a good base for some modifications. Of course, this is a very individual matter, but if we would like to make a bicycle more hiking ... nothing stands in the way! You can attach a set of light fenders, a rear rack (for which there are mounting holes in the frame), a support for the rear forks (marabou - also with mounting holes in the frame), panniers for all these, and we have an expedition bike ready.

You can also try the other way and give the Evado 7.0 even more of a sporting edge. You can use a little wider tires (up to 2.0 should be easy), turn the stem so that it points more downwards, thanks to which the center of gravity will lower and move forward. At the very end, you can consider changing the crank to one with lighter gears, if more than speed, we want dynamics in difficult terrain.

Differences between the Evado 7.0 and the lower model of the series.

When it comes to the bicycle frame, we won't notice any difference, apart from painting. The shape, profiling and geometry remain unchanged.

The difference will result primarily from the equipment used and its quality.

Deore drive

As previously mentioned, the bike is equipped with a full Deore drive. In the sixth version, the front derailleur is Altus, while in the rear we have Deore, but it is an older type. The new Deore T6000 has optimized spring tension that makes shifting light, but also very precise.

The crank is also an important part of the drive and at the same time is a key difference between the two models of bikes. A solution based on the Octalink system has already been used in Evado 7.0. The spline connects to the support via a multi-point connection, which makes the connection more rigid and durable. Compared to a square crank, this is a major technological leap.

The cassette also belongs to the noble Deore group. The 10 rows of specially shaped tines really make the difference compared to the 9 rows. It is not even about these additional ratios, but their closeness to each other. Gear changes are smoother and faster. This is due to the fact that we use a different, narrower chain for the 10-speed cassette.

Kross Evado 7.0  is also a better material used to make the frame. We used solid aluminum to create it . It is an improved 6061 aluminum alloy , which is a compromise between high frame stiffness and its low weight. It is characterized by high resistance to external conditions, fractures and impacts. By butting all the frame tubes, we were able to maintain the strength of the structure while reducing weight. It is also the hydroforming of the frame , thanks to which we managed to obtain aesthetic, unique shapes of individual tubes. The frame is powder coated , which translates into durability of painting and its resistance to mechanical damage.
